A South African non-profit company building safe, permanent bridges for rural communities cut off from the lives they deserve.

Across rural South Africa, thousands of families are cut off from schools, clinics, jobs and markets simply because they cannot cross a river safely. A single flooded crossing can isolate an entire community — children miss school, patients cannot reach healthcare, and local economies grind to a halt.
In the event of flash floods, these rivers present an immediate and severe threat to the safety of the people trying to cross to get to school, work or church.
Bridging Africa exists to change that.
We raise funds to provide safe, permanent, community-centered rural bridges to restore mobility, access and opportunity to the people living in the affected communities. We work directly with local community leaders to bring bridges to places where access, mobility and daily life are severely hindered by the lack of a permanent solution.

Using flash-flood data from the CSIR, historical incident records and direct partnership with traditional leaders and municipalities, we pinpoint river crossings where a bridge will have the greatest social and economic impact.

Working with several of South Africa's top engineering and civil construction firms, we deploy donor funds into bridges that carry up to 5 tons and are engineered for the long term.

A bridge immediately transforms daily life. The change is permanent, visible and measurable. We track impact in lives changed — not in dollars spent.
Our beneficiaries are the people facing daily danger or isolation because of an unsafe river crossing — and the families, schools and clinics that depend on them.
Every person who depends on safe access to live, learn, work and thrive.

No child should risk their life to get to school.
No mother should be stranded from healthcare.
No community should be isolated because of a river.
A simple bridge can change everything — and we are here to build them.
